US coffins is a family business with deep ancestral roots in the Funeral industry in the United States and the United Kingdom:
• 1884: Alfred and Edwin Newman founded one of the largest coffin accessory manufacturers in the United Kingdom.
• 1936: John Clifford Atkinson founded a JC Atkinson coffin manufacturing company in England.
• 1939: Frederick “Papa Jack” Newman founded Newman Ambulance in the United States.
Newman Brothers in the UK is no longer active, but Newman’s Ambulance is still proudly serving the community and funeral homes across the Gulf Coast, and JC Atkinson has grown to be the largest independent coffin manufacturer in the United Kingdom.
In 2018, we began an international partnership to bring old-world European-styled coffins into the United States, extending our well-established family offerings ‘across the pond’.
Every coffin in our range is handmade with ultimate care for quality and the environment. Each is tailored to accommodate American traditions whilst maintaining European style and craftsmanship.
